This is a poem about hurricane katrina! Try to Understand Babies will be born; People will die. Families will be torn, but you just need to try to understand this rocky land. I know times have been tough, and the goings are rough, but things will get better, even if your cheeks get wetter. You may cry, but you still need to try to understand this rocky land. I know times have been tough, and the goings are rough. Hey! Things might get worse. People might get taken off in a hearse. Everything is gonna be all right. Just try to make it through the night. Try to understand this rocky land. I know times have been tough, and the goings are rough. But just try... by Julia H

(this one is so sad!) Lest We Forget
Rivers of blood, filled with innocent souls
No food on our plates, or cereal in our bowls.
We fight for freedom, lives lost every day
The battlefield painted red, with skies listless and grey.
I watched the pain and suffering from a war beaten man
He stood five foot four with a charcoal tan.
He cried out "please save me, for the love of god."
My neck was still weak but I was able to nod.
When I picked him up, his whole body felt cold
I looked at his face and could tell he was old.
Still tattered and beaten he gave me a smile
I pointed to a sign that read "Hospital - 1 mile"
He looked in my eyes, a tear rolled down his cheek
For his chance of survival seemed very bleak.
As he lay in my arms this man I'd just met
Picked a poppy from the ground and said,
"Lest we forget."

Just Only One Word
As I lay alone in bed One image comes to my mind, That is the image of you So sweet, so gentle, so kind, So clearly I see your picture, And tenderly I feel your touch> Your bright and glowing smile, No one a copy such From the day when we first met Until the days that bring tomorrow Continuously you shine your light That takes away my sorrow.
No thousand words can say All that you've done for me, Instead just only one That word is "love" you see "Love" sums up all my thoughts, And brings me all I need. It leaves nothing behind Nothing that must heed So starting from today, Till the rest of my tomorrows I want to give you the same And take away your sorrows.
For I will always love you No matter which way life turns. You'll always be that part of me That will last and never burns.

In Fifty Years Time A Poem about Global Warming A chronic cyclone of debris expanded over the planet. A thick stretch of flurry filed the atmosphere, New York, Sydney, Britain, Tokyo, mankind was on probation. Tornadoes, tsunamis, hurricanes, droughts, floods. They all spelt two words on a crumpled piece of paper, Global Warming. A livid background, electric-lights, a crescendo of sirens, gunshots, and the click of a finger every three seconds, a child is dead this minute, because there simply aren't enough first aid vans any more, people are to petrified to leave their loved ones at home while they work. Hurricane Gavin moves like a ghost, its gray eye fixed on England. A forest fire fills a willowed forest with vermillion ooze. A swift movement of a tidal wave or tsunami threatened a shore in the west. A drought caused the River Nile into a dessert transformation. Temperatures soared to fifty-two degrees in London. The polar-ice caps melted to smitereens. The panda, shark, elephant and hunch back whales were wiped out, But worst and most horrifying of all, the symphony of colours, crimson, marigold, lime, azure, indigo and violet were vanished. God's magnificent creation, the rainbow was nearly extinct. Instead, jet black, blood red, acid and polluted streets was all the corroded the atmosphere, all because of factories and waste. Mankind was cursed. Is there any hope, I weep innocent children.
